Yesterday we went with friends to Wakulla Springs. It was a noble and genuine thought... People are hot. People like to swim. People like playing with friends and having a picnic. Let's go to Wakulla Springs! Right? Right?
Sure. Only, I've forgotten one detail. Unless you've just stepped out of the pit of Hell itself, that icy-cold water is not going to feel good. It never feels good. Eventually you may go numb, and you may not notice the loss of sensation in your limbs, thereby mistakenly thinking that the water feels warmer. But no, it never feels good. There are lots of people walking around in the water on their tip-toes, arms above the water as if about to do the Chicken Dance, with wide eyes and teeth bared.
That being said, we had a fun time. We had a picnic. Hopers ate all of our food, our friends' food, and their friends' food, and was still hungry.
Hopers eating Elaine's nectarine.
Noodle and Jeremy enjoyed the diving platform with Elaine and Rachael. Elaine has an awesome little camera that is waterproof, so she took this video of Noodle on her first brave jump off the platform:
