Noodle's Camping Birthday

We just back today from camping at Torreya State Park and celebrating Noodle's 6th birthday. It was such a fun time that I'm really glad we decided to do something different this year. Usually, it's the invite-tons-of-kids-birthday-party-craziness-leaving-you-exhausted kind of time. Not this year! We left on Friday afternoon. It rained most of that day, giving us plenty of time to pack and give Noodle her "big" birthday present, Sophie (see A Pet For Noodle). By the time we arrived at Torreya, the rain was clearing out, leaving cool and beautiful weather behind it.

We celebrated Noodle's birthday the next day, Saturday, with balloons, decorations, gifts, and a cookie cake that I decorated while the kids went on a hike with Seth and Tyler.

Noodle got a pink "Barbie" scooter from Amie, G-Daddy and Tabitha. She joined the other children in the camp area in riding circles around the loop for the rest of the weekend. Hopers and Tabitha thought they could give it a try too!

Amie bought all the girls pink camo pants to wear. It was like herding cats to try to get a picture of the three of them sitting still and looking in my direction. I had to bribe them with crackers. "Polly want a cracker?"

Saturday night, we carved pumpkins to accent our camping area. I carved a cat and helped Noodle carve her face design.
