Happy Resurrection!

We had a great Easter Sunday yesterday. It is so good that we can celebrate the day that Jesus changed the world. Praise God that He died so that we could live forever!

After church, we came back home for a little nap before attempting any afternoon activities. Noodle was so excited that we were going to do an egg hunt, that she must have asked me about it 50 times. She patiently watched Alice in Wonderland twice while Hopers took her nap.

Finally, when nap time was finished, Amie, G-Daddy and Tabitha came to our house. We gave the girls their Easter baskets and then promptly went outside for the egg hunt.

This was Hopers first real egg hunt. I'm not going to count the one on Saturday at Thomasville Road Baptist. There were about a hundred 1, 2, & 3 year olds there making a mad dash for a few eggs set out on a square of grass about the size of my living room. Hopers had no idea what was going on. By the time I convinced her to pick up an egg, all of the rest of the eggs were completely snatched up. The egg hunt lasted about 2.5 seconds. SO, this is her first real egg hunt. She did great.

(Note to self: Next year, either have more children involved, or hide fewer eggs. Between my mom and I, we hid about 90 eggs! Way too many for two toddlers and a five year old...)

Tabitha also did great. She'd had some practice last weekend at my sister's house, so she was already an old pro. In fact, she was finding all the more difficult eggs that I'd hidden for Noodle! She found so many eggs that her basket was weighing her down! It was hilarious watching her try to teeter around with that basket that weighed as much as her. It actually made her fall over. She just quietly waited for someone to come pick her up. Noodle got bored with hunting eggs and the grown-ups had to finish up for her and the babies. There are probably still a few eggs in my backyard. We were too lazy to actually count how many the kids picked up.

We ended our day with a feast of green beans & red potatoes, biscuits, white lima beans and barbeque catfish (don't knock it til ya tried it!). To top it off, Amie, Tyler and I played a rousing game of Scrabble while Tabitha squirmed and G-Daddy read to us from the dictionary (Noodle and Hopers went to bed).
